The USB 3.0 VS USB 3.1 Gen 1

All the time has passed when we call USB 3.0. USB-IF rename USB 3.0 to USB 3.1 Gen 1. There’s no USB 3.0 from the Universal Serial Bus Implementers Forums.

What is USB 3.0? Most of us know USB very well from our computer,USB Flash Drive,mouse,keyboard etc electronic products. Compared to Hi-Speed USB 2.0, SuperSpeed USB 3.0 is blue color connector.

See from the above figure: "SS" logo represents the "SuperSpeed", it is the symbol of USB 3.0 (that is, USB 3.1 Gen 1) another name.

Why USB 3.0 name to USB 3.1 Gen 1? The reason is USB Type C.

USB Type-C is a popular new interface standard. It is described as SuperSpeed 10 Gbps or SuperSpeed USB 3.1 configuration. As "complementary", in fact it’s compatible with USB 2.0 or 3.0. In order to clarify the difference between these USB standard, USB Developer Forum (USB-IF) recently on the relationship with each other before they were first introduced.The USB 3.0 itself is now also known as "USB 3.1 Gen 1".Superspeed on behalf of 5Gbps USB 3.1，Superspeed represents 10Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2.
